Utah part 1

We went to Utah over a month ago. It was a great trip. Fast, busy, full! I didn't take a camera so here's the pictures from my phone of the events we did with my family...
My parents took the boys to 2 movies. My boys love movies but we rarely take them, too cheap and too lazy to chase Annie around the theaters.

I hiked Timpanogos with Nat. It was amazing! I haven't hiked it since before I was married. The weather was perfect- on the cool side, scenery was breath taking, and the company was pretty great too. I'm not sure I can live too much longer without mountains around me...

Drew turned 30 while we were there. My mom woke up early to get him his favorite doughnuts- best MIL award. Words can not express how much I love Drew, Happy birthday Drewby!
Miss Snuggles with Nat and her amazing hair:)
We had to shop at city creek. Annie had to have a bag at all times and don't even think of helping her with it!

I visited my grandma's grave. Memories came flooding back of my grandma taking me up there to decorate her parents graves.

So there you have it. Not one picture of my parents or Scott, I'm horrible! Next time I'll do better.

FLying

A couple of days before we fly I get sick, every single time. I'm sure it's stress induced. I really, really don't enjoy flying with kids. But we do it cause we love our families and it really is worth it! On the way to Utah we thought it would be a good idea to leave Ky at 7:00pm and get into Utah at 11 pm which is 1 am Kentucky time. Our plan did not work. While the boys slept most of the flight, annie did not. She finally gave up her fight and slept the last 45 minutes. I will never underestimate her stubbornness again. We were all exhausted when our flight landed in Salt Lake. Our way home went smoother. We didn't push sleep on Annie and she terrorized her brothers while they slept.

Mac has been saying pretty funny things lately. Some of the stuff he says sounds like a 30 year old woman ( I wonder why?) here's a random sample of Mac sayings....

"I pooped earlier and it was horrible!"

Me: (after gray tripped) you're ok g!

Mac: ya jerk!

Me: what? Why am I a jerk? I didn't make him trip.

Mac: cause he fell and he's bleeding and that means he's hurt and not OK. So you're a jerk!

Bluegrass Fair

Last Saturday we hit up the bluegrass county fair. On our way there we got a call from the Bylunds asking us if we wanted their extra passes! yes! So we spent the night with their family, going on rides, watching a dare devil show and eating carni food which I regretted later that night.

G had to sit out some of rides because of his arm but Mac rode everything he could and loved it all. 5 hours just wasn't enough for him.

Update

Life here has been interesting. It took us some time to get back into our routine after vacation. But it felt good to get back to the gym, back to the pool, and even back to house cleaning and jobs! Then Gray broke his arm and we've been trying to find things that he can do. But to tell your the truth his arm hasn't slowed him down much. We do play more board games and they obviously wrestle less but G has resorted to biting an kicking when they do fight. One day we attempted the pool, I wrapped G's arm up nice and tight and he spent the day dipping his toes in the pool and cheering Mac on, totally happy as can be. Love my easy going boy!

After a very long month of little rain we have welcomed the daily thunder storms!

Friday the 13th started out like most Fridays. Woke up made breakfast, cleaned the house, showered while the boys wrestled on my bed. Started getting ready, boys still wrestling and then screaming! "G, sorry G, sorry !!! Mom it was an accident!"

When I saw gray's arm I immediately knew he broke it. Plus the fact that he cried longer than a couple of minutes made me think it was broken too. So we hurried and got everyone ready, dropped Mac and Annie off at a friend's house and headed to the pediatrician where the doctor took one look at his arm and called an orthopedic doctor. To make a long story short, the x-rays showed that in fact his arm was broken.

His arm right after he fell
While the nurse was looking at Gray's x-ray I overheard her say "wow, and he didn't even make a sound!" Gray really was amazing. Cried while we were home but the minute we left the house, no tears, no complaining. Even when I had to adjust his arm for the x-ray he didn't wince or say a thing.
In this picture you can tell the difference between the good arm and the broken arm.

"Mom I look like superman!"
G is loving his cast and is still being a champ. I was worried about his pain and being able to sleep with his cast on but everything went great. He slept great and acts like nothing has changed. In Gray's short life he has been through a lot; multiple ER visits, stitches/glue, eye surgery, front teeth getting knocked out, and now a broken arm. But out of all my kids Gray can handle pain and crazy situations the best. He's always calm and never complains which makes everything easier on me and I love him for that.
