Easter

This year Easter was just us and while we love celebrating with others, it was nice to be with our little family. We waited until after church to do the Easter egg hunt. Had a big pig (pork) dinner and then went on a walk and flew kites. When we got home we colored eggs and called it a night. We had a very Happy Easter!
Annie didn't bother picking up her own eggs she opted to raid the boys baskets instead.

Breakfast with the Works

We've lived here for 13 Keeneland race seasons and we have never done Breakfast with the Works. The buffet closes at 8:30 am and we are not morning people... but we woke up bright and early and made it in time to get breakfast and wait for it...see the horses work. and some how we missed the face painting and other kid activities. Maybe we'll have to go back next week:)
Mac ate 5 sausages and they're not the small ones they're like the bratwurst ones. We said he had to eat a doughnut before he ate another one!

and the rest of the day we stained our deck and it only took us five hours and one call to poison control!

Race Day!

Back in January I started training for another half marathon but after seeing the course I decided to run it in a 2 person relay instead. The course was intense. Hills, hills and more hills! The course started at Keeneland and took us out to the neighboring horse farms. It was absolutely beautiful but definitely the hardest run I've done. I only ran 7 miles of it and my knees and hips are shot but I loved it! A great way to start conference weekend!

The boys ran in the kids one mile race. They didn't know what to expect. All they knew was that they were suppose to run and at the end they got a trophy. When the horn went off Mac looked confused and Gray looked terrified so after they passed me, I jumped in and ran the rest with them.

The Daily

Last week according to my phone....
Spring in Kentucky is the best! We can't help but want to be outside every second of the day!
We made dinosaur eggs- sand, coffee grounds, salt, flour and little plastic dinosaurs. We molded the eggs, put the dinos in and baked them. Then I hid them around the yard and when the boys found them they smashed them to see what dinosaurs they got. This was a hit, another great thing I found on pinterest!

G and Mac ran into each other...
Boys will be boys...
these bubbles were amazing...

Annie is crazy! she is climbing on everything. The best thing about it is that she wants an audience for everything. So when she does climb up on the table she yells "Mom! Momma Mommy!" and then giggles and continues being naughty.
She also found her nose and belly button. Her finger is in one of them at all times...
Back in February we were leaving the gym and we were hit by a rainstorm. The kind of rainstorm that feels like you are getting buckets of water thrown at you. The boys were screaming "I can't see anything" while I screamed back "It's ok just keep running!"

The daily

I flew back on Tuesday and we hit the ground running. It was like I hadn't even left. Here's what we've been doing this week...

Played in the Powell's backyard.
Mac trying to get the sled to float
Peacefully swinging until G came and shook things up
Piggies for Annie girl

That sneaky little Leprechaun left us little clues that led us to his "Pot of Gold"- gold fish, a huge thing of cheese puffs, Sunny D and Leap Frog books.
On ourwalk we found a snake and little Annie ate a whole plum! I had 3 very happy kids.
