Gettysburg

Monday morning Drew went to work while I entertained the kids. Breakfast- which is always a highlight for these bacon lovers. Swimming and a bath party and a couple of hours of TV. When Drew finished we went out and drove through all the sites. It was beautiful and we couldn't help but feel gratitude for our country and all that the men and women did to make us the country we are today.

It was WINDY especially up in the look outs

Gray carried around a map most of the day, "telling" us where to go

Happy Easter

Drew found out a couple weeks ago that he had s deposition outside of Harrisburg, PA during mac's spring break. So we decided to all go and make a vacation out of it. The only bad thing was that we had to leave Easter morning. I love Easter and I love church on Easter Sunday. It's hard to get the whole spirit of Easter when you don't attend church but the deposition was Monday morning and we had a long drive a head of us. So this year Easter was a little rushed which wasn't my favorite but we didn't have much of a choice. We woke up the kids got them ready for church and let them loose to find the eggs, took a couple of pictures and rushed them into a fully packed car. Then rushed to church, partook of the sacrament and then got on the road and headed towards West Virginia.

The drive was long. The boys did great, very few complaints but Annie wasn't happy and slept only 30 min of the 8 hour drive. We stopped 2 times trying to break up the trip. Annie was happiest when she got the wipes and cleaned herself and the car seat.

Mac

Everyday Mac brings home anywhere from 3 -12 papers. Some are notes, journal pages, old homework assignments but most of them are pictures he's drawn. Mac LOVES to draw. Since the weather has been bad they have had more free time to draw, which is his favorite. I'm not quite sure what to do with all the drawing he comes home with. They are adorable and express how he's feeling and his likes at the time but there are soooo many of them! Sadly, when he's not looking I throw most of them in the recycling bin and save the gems. Here's my favorites from this week.
The first one is a collage that me and Mac made. He cut out all the things he likes, the ocean/ swimming, camping, Lego ninjago, baseball, and action figures.
Picture #2
I am.... All things that Make Mac, Mac. Loves pizza and cheeseburgers. Loves playing tennis and wii video games. He has brown eyes and blonde hair and he's tall and a rascal. He loves his soccer ball shirt and camo pants- which he doesn't own and his car socks and tennis shoes.

Picture #3, 4 and 5 is a feeling book he brought home.

Mac expresses himself so well. I never have to wonder why he's acting out or happy cause he just puts it out there  I love him so much even if I'm always the one he draws when asked "what makes you sad or mad" and his grandparents are the ones he draws when asked "what makes you happy?":)

" I feel happy when it's my birthday"

" I feel angry when my mom acts the same as me when I'm sad"

"I feel loved when my grandparents hug me"

Sleep

Sleep, it stresses me out! When it comes to being a mom I know 1 thing- to be happy the kids need sleep and I need sleep. We were spoiled with Mac. He slept really well as a baby. The other 2 not so much. Even now Mac doesn't need as much sleep as Annie and g does. He doesn't get sick often and a bad night sleep doesn't equal a bad next day. Gray on the other hand needs sleep, at least 10 hours or we are paying for it. And Annie, I need her to sleep and she needs the sleep. She's been cutting out her naps. She will only nap every other day. But i still got a break cause she just played in her crib. But last week she realized climbing out of her crib was not scary but fun. So we had a week filled with no naps and surprise visits in the middle of night. What would you know- she got sick. Saturday i was desperate. i researched options of "keeping your toddler in her crib" and was disappointed in what i found so i did the unspeakable- switched the locks so i could lock her in her room. it's safer this way, can't have a baby wondering the house at night. Now we sleep on her floor until she is fast asleep. her nightly routine went from 10min to 30- 60 min. Luckily the excitement of climbing out of her crib is gone and she is sleeping much better and is feeling better. But man oh man I'm tired!

St. Louis

Mac had Friday off so we headed over to St. Louis to see the Wirig family.

Annie and G couldn't wait to get Mac off the bus so we could leave. Annie had her "Ellie" dress on all day but the excitement ended about 20 minutes into the drive. Annie does not travel well:) surprised?

Friday we went to the arch saw the museum and let the kids run
around.

Then went to the cathedral basilica of St. Louis. It was massive and the whole ceiling was not painted but covered in mosaic tiles! It was beautiful! After, we headed to the park to have some of st, Louis' famous ribs from poppy's. yum! Poor little Mac started complaining that his stomach hurt and then threw up A lot! Thinking that he threw up because the night before he had 3 double cheeseburgers at McDonald's we put him in the stroller and pushed him around the Zoo. He was a trooper and threw up just once more. Luckily the next day he was feeling better and acting like himself.

sweet Brigham and Beej

It was a long day but we had to take advantage of the 70 degree weather!

Friday night we had some custard- yum!

Saturday was rainy and cold so we went to the botanical gardens. It was huge and beautiful, i can only imagine how amazing it will be in a month.

After, we went to lunch at Fritz's where they make their own root beer and flavored sodas. We had a delicious lunch and drank way too many sodas!

After that we took it easy and let the kids nap and play. They played so good with each other! It's times like these that make me want to live close to family.

3 days just wasn't enough for Briggles to get use to us:)

Beej and Drew invented a knew game! Watch out it's going to be big!

The kids attempted rock band

Sunday we woke up to the sneaky leprechaun and the stomach bug. We were planning on going to church but as the morning went on, Drew and I felt more sick so we decided to cut the trip short. I slept most of the way while poor drew got us home in record time. We haven't moved much since but a good night sleep has us feeling better. Minus the sickness it was a perfect weekend! Thank you beej and Katie for being such great host and showing us your beautiful city!
