Last day

 Thursday on our way home we stopped at the Jefferson Memorial. We were hoping that the cherry blossoms had popped but I think we were still a day too early but we did get a sneak peak of the blossoms. The kids had fun racing up and down the big marble stairs. It was a great way to end the trip.

 I think one of the things the kids loved most about the trip was the daily commute on the Metro.

Later that night Drew took the boys to a Nationals baseball game and I went out with Mj and Emo.

  I'm not sure when I met Mj, probably in nursery. My first memories of her were in kindergarten. I would walk home from school with her and have a snack or lunch. From there on there wasn't a time she wasn't there. We have soooo many memories together. Some funny, some sad and too many that are embarrassing.  It's funny that we are best friends cause we are really different but maybe that's why it has worked. No matter what happens in our lives or how different our lives become, when we talk it's like nothing has changed. The nights we went out, we talked and talked and when we said good bye I felt like I needed at least another day just to finish catching up!

DC Day 2

Day 2 started off with the Air and Space Museum. We only lasted an hour there, the kids weren't as excited about it as we thought they would be. Mac kept asking, "where's the monkeys dressed up as an astronaut"- Night at the Museum 2. He's an animal/ dinosaur not a truck/ airplane kid.

After the museum we ran into the "Food trucks." This was Mac's favorite thing all day. Each kid got to pick a truck to get what they wanted to eat.Mac and Annie-pizza, Gray- Chick-fil-A and Me and Drew- tacos

Then we headed to Mj's office saw where she works and then headed over for a tour of the capital. 

Mj gave a  great tour, she even got on the floor to take our family picture

After that we made it over to the Library of Congress and the Supreme court and ended at the pond in front of the capital

DC day 1

 

The first day we went to the Natural History Museum. We loved it!

 

 

 

Annie threw one of the biggest tantrums in the museum. We took a breather and let her just play on the benches. One thing about annie is that she does not like to be contained. So being in a very crowded museum and not being able to run free about killed her. After the museum we let her run around on the grass and she was as happy as can be.

 

 

 

 For lunch Mj picked us up and took us to Good Stuff. It was delicious and so good to catch up with her.

 

 After Lunch Mj dropped us off at the Lincoln Memorial. 
On the way to Dc the boys watched Night at the Museum 2 so they both really wanted to see the Abraham Lincoln Statue. Gray specifically asked to get a picture in front of it and when I took it he asked "Did you get Abraham?"

 

 From the Lincoln Memorial we walked over to the Arlington Cemetery. This was a long walk to get to the cemetery and another long walk/ hike up to the tomb of the unknown soldier. The kids were done and we carried/pushed them most of the way. After that we called it a day.

  Monday night we drove into the city and saw the white house and the Washington memorial
