Veterans Park

It's warm, 74 degrees to be exact. I think I'm getting old, my life is consumed by the weather.
I look at my health and weather the same way. I don't appreciate it when it's good until it's bad.
Thinking that last week was the end of the beautiful fall weather, I packed up our summer clothes, turned on our heater only to be surprised by the warm front that came in. All week we have been going on walks, enjoying the outdoors because really, how long can this last? Yesterday we picnicked and today we took an hour long walk through the park. It was perfect!

Mac says some pretty funny things and I tend to not write them down because 1. nobody thinks your kid is as funny or cute as you do and 2. I forget to but not today.
The other night we were watching Life and there was a segment on a lizard running on top of the water and Mac said "hey look mom, it's a Jesus Christ Lizard." I could not stop laughing, totally inappropriate coming from anyone other than an innocent 4 year old.

Mac went in for his 4 year check up... weight 47 lbs (gained 5 lbs this year) and 43.5" tall (grew 1.5 ") His favorite thing about the checkup, peeing in a cup! It's great being a boy!

Time

It's raining outside! It's cold and wet and it's making me dread winter. One positive thing about winter...my baby will be born. It hit me she'll be here in a short 10 weeks. Not only is her birth quickly approaching but so is Thanksgiving-my family is coming, a quick trip to Utah and Christmas. This is a busy time of year and my list of things to do is long but I can't seem to focus on anything but my new camera.

I hate spending money, i have issues. I'm cheap, super cheap. So buying a big purchase like a camera about killed me. Since I have bought it I have had guilt. Guilt that I'm not using my camera to it's fullest abilities. Guilt that I bought "too much camera"and therefore spent too much money. So even though I have a million things to do, I seem to forget about them and only worry about being able to take decent pictures by the time this little girl comes.

Today instead of working on Christmas gifts or cleaning my gross bathroom, I tried taking pictures in low light rooms without using a flash. G was more than happy to be my model.

Oh and I made my first skirt for baby girl...

Trunk-or-Treat

Carving pumpkins and Playgroup

Last night we carved pumpkins and made sugar cookies. Mac requested a scary face jack-o-lantern. Gray sat like this the whole time drooling on Drew's arm. The boys loved how the pumpkin turned out and we've eaten way too many cookies. SUCCESS!!

Last week for playgroup we did a Halloween carnival. Thanks to a lot of friends for helping out, it turned out great.

There was also a coloring corner and cake walk. Everyone brought a Halloween snack and I think all 40+ kids had fun! I know this one did...

Soccer

Mac's first season of soccer is over. I wasn't sure how he would do. I put him with an older group of kids hoping he would learn a little more and mostly because he had friends on that team. Mac did great. You could tell he was at least a year younger than most of them but every game and practice he improved and best of all he liked it!

We love grandmas!

Another great visit from Grandma Rita! I'm lucky I love my in laws so much! I look forward to their visit almost as much as my boys do! We had a good weekend doing our normal routine. Grandma went to Gray's music class and got to go to our favorite Lexington library. She was able to see Mac play soccer and see where he goes to preschool. But the most exciting thing was that she got to see Mac in his primary program! When Mac wasn't head butting Mason, he sang the songs and confidently got up to the microphone and gave his part "My heart feels warm and peaceful when I feel the holy Ghost" He's a natural! When he was done, he ran right to grandma and gave her a hug. It meant a lot to have her there!

When G woke up from his nap he said, "Go see grandma at the airport!" He has been sad to say the least, luckily we will be seeing her in a short 6 weeks!

Grandma Rita, thanks for making the trip out here. We'll take ya anytime!
