Pleasantly boring

The other day we went for a walk. I left the boys and baby girl at the bridge to play while I made a couple laps around the park. I came back to a full on boat race. This is why the boys love their dad!The first of November our bishop and his wife moved to London. It was a sad goodbye. Bishop Blogdett has played a huge role in our lives since moving to Kentucky especially Drew's. We are grateful for their 8 years of service in the Tates Creek ward and for their willingness to serve like they did! London is lucky to have them.Bishopric- 2 of the 8 counselors that served with bishop
here's the letter we added to book for bishop and christie...

One of the highlights of attending church over the last six years was the smile I would see on Bishop’s face and his excited greeting of “Drewsky” each and every Sunday. We have enjoyed the opportunities to labor together during these years and will cherish the memories that we have made together. As you prepare to embark on another opportunity and challenge together, we would to list a few reasons that we will forever be grateful that your time in Kentucky was as long as it was.

1- You were two of the first people to welcome each of our children into the world. As the kids have grown you have always been gracious to them and great examples to them. Our kids have only had one Bishop to this point and we are sure that your caring nature and many of your generosities (i.e. suckers) will be greatly missed. We are grateful that as they have begun to establish their testimonies of church leadership, that they have had such a good man to look up to.

2- After a year in the Stake I am only now beginning to get used to a church meeting without the Bishop. For over 5 years I had the privilege of serving with you as the Executive Secretary, the Young Men President, and a Counselor in the Bishopric, and I can honestly say that I looked forward to 6:30 a.m. Bishopric Meeting more than I have to many other things.

3- My priesthood line now goes through your own. You ordained me a High Priest in July of 2008, but I think the ordaining to the office was only the beginning of the blessings that I received from serving with you. I am grateful for the faith that you had in me and the encouragement that you gave me to more fully magnify my priesthood.

4- For several years both Ash and I had the privilege of serving with Christie as she blessed the lives of the young women. We still have many of the heartfelt thank you notes you wrote and appreciate your example of love and service and also your ability to bless those you serve with and not just those you serve.

While our birthdates may be separated by a few years, we can honestly say that our friendship with you over these last three years has been one of the richest we have had. We wish you only the best and you move forward and look forward to any opportunities we may have to reunite in the future. You have made such a difference in our lives and we are grateful every day that you spent the last decade serving so valiantly in the Tates Creek Ward.

Happy Halloween!

At our ward's Halloween Carnival!
Gray- Batman, Drew- Clark Kent/ superman, Mac- Spiderman, Me- Cat woman and
Annie- Wonder woman
It seems like every holiday gets better and better with these 2 boys! When we were out trick or treating, G and Mac laughed and giggled. They raced up to the doors and were so excited to see what candy each house had! They yelled "Trick or Treat" and "Thank you!"It was so pure joy watching them. Drew missed out, he stayed home and handed out candy with Annie.

5 years old!!!

Yesterday Mac turned 5! Wow, where has the time gone?! Instead of doing a friends party we let Mac choose what he wanted to do for his birthday. He had a hard time choosing between the Cincinnati Zoo and the Aquarium but chose the Zoo after he found out they had a Komodo Dragon.

Every time the komodo dragon did anything Mac would say "fast take a picture!"

October is a great time to go to the Zoo! It was beautiful, nice and cool and empty! Plus the animals actually moved!

Train ride around the zoo "YEAH!"

Drew dropped us off at the Zoo then headed into the Cinci office to finish up some work. He was planning on spending the 2nd half of the day in the Zoo with us but we saw and did everything in 3.5 hours! As we were leaving the Zoo Mac said "This is the best day of my life!"
Now for the presents...
Doing "Face Time" with my parents! This was the first year they haven't been here for Mac's birthday- we've been spoiled. But with face time they were able to sing to him and see him open his presents. So great!

Happy Birthday Mac! We love you!!!

Mac at 5 years old weighs 52 lbs -95% and is 46 inches tall- 95%

At 9 months

Annie at 9 months is 21 lbs -85% and 30.5 inches 95%. She talks and talks- she sounds like little bird chirping all day long! She's mastered the army crawl and is moving onto the, on all 4's crawl. She's pulling herself up on everything. Loves to wrestle with whoever is laying on the floor. She loves the stairs and giggles while she's climbing- so proud of herself. She's started throwing some great tantrums and gives big, wet, eat your face, kisses on demand. We love you, sweet Annie Girl!

Trees, Trails and Creatures

Saturday we randomly went to the Trees, Trails and Creatures festival and we were pleasantly surprised! We painted pumpkins, got our faces painted, went through a hay maze, examined animal furs and insects. But the main event was the creature trail. In the garden they had 12 different people dressed up as species that are found in the arboretum. There was everything from spiders to sunflowers to skunks. We went around met the species and they told us about themselves and their habitats. Mac and G loved this and we learned a lot!

What have we been up to?

Annie is on the move! Which means I am too! We have been busy cleaning and picking up everything before Annie can get to it and gobble it up. The girl puts EVERYTHING in her mouth. Her favorite things to chew on these days- shoes!
Walks and more walks. The weather is amazing, Annie loves her stroller and the rest of us get restless, so we walk to the duck pond, the park, friends houses or just around. We have loved our afternoon walks and will really miss them when the weather turns cold.

Chalk! in the past I would go out and draw for the boys. I would take their requests and do my best. The more knowledge Mac gained the harder the requests got:) Mac still has me doing some of the "work" but he's figuring out the whole drawing thing. Gray loves to trace my drawings but really has a knack for chalk art.

Fall, you are too good to us!
