It's getting hot in here

Right now it's 79 degrees inside our house. Our air conditioner broke yesterday and since it was Memorial day we wont be seeing the fix-it man until tomorrow. Luckily our friends lent us their fan and it's been doing a good job keeping us somewhat cool.If you look close you can see Mac's hair being blown by the fan
At first Mac was terrified of the fan but quickly changed his mind

Mr. Possum

I had just gotten home and I was feeding Mac when a possum walked up to our door. A live possum. Out here in Kentucky you get to see plenty of dead possums but rarely do you see a live one. Now, I had seen him before but didn't get a picture and it's bothered me since. I yelled for Drew to take a picture but he wasn't getting the job done. I passed Mac to him, grabbed the camera and ran outside. The possum had quickly made it's way to the front yard and was back by the fence. I was in my bare feet and climbing around in the brush, trying to get a good shot. It was all worth it because I did get a decent picture. Check it out.

Eating while jumping what more could you ask for

Getting Mac to eat solids has not been easy. Not only does he not care for the solids themselves but he gets bored. So we tried something new. We put Mac in his jumper and fed him. It was a mess but he loved it. He ate the whole bowl of barley.

It's always messy when drew feeds Mac

Wild Things

One thing we love about Kentucky is the greenness. There are trees and bushes everywhere. This makes it easy to have animals live all around you. Living in our backyard we have a possum (we've only seen twice. UGLY), a groundhog, multiple squirrels, birds and two stray cats that come and go throughout the day. Mind you, our backyard is small. Since the weather has been so nice we have seen our friends a little more.

We grow'em big in Kentucky. Yesterday I watched this groundhog eat all our dandelions and try to get the leaves off the bushes. Isn't he cute.

7 months old

It's amazing how fast time has gone by. I can't believe Mac is 7 months old. It's been fun to watch him discover things around him and how to use different parts of his body. Lately he sits up and stares at his moving fingers.

Mac has found his toes

Mac is bigger than most babies his age. He weighs 22.5 lbs. and is 29 inches long. He's our big boy.

Nap Time

Lately Mac has had fun exploring his crib. He is constantly rolling over and kicking himself around his bed. Last week he figured out how to take apart his bedding. The first time he did it I thought it was cute but after the third or fourth time of putting his bed back together the cuteness wore off . He keeps life fun and exciting.

Our first family road trip

We finally made it to Chicago and had a great time. We have been wanting to go visit my Aunt Ann's family since they moved there.

we took an Architectural boat tour through downtown Chicago. It was so interesting learning about all the different buildings and the famous Chicago fire. This is Mac infront of the Sears Tower.

The Herlins have a pond in their backyard. This is Mac and my Uncle Rich watching the boys paddle boat and the neighbor fish. Steven and Drew paddle boating
One thing that kept us from visiting earlier was our fear that Mac would lose it on the 6 hour drive. But really, Mac did great. We had such a fun time in Chicago and can't wait to go back. Thanks Herlins!!

Our first Post

So I decided to join the blogging world. Hopefully it will be easier than emailing all our family and friends back in Utah.
A little bit about us.... Me and Drew have been married for over two years and are currently living in Kentucky. Drew is just finishing up his 2nd year of Law School at University of Kentucky. I'm a stay home mom and love it. Mac is our adorable little 6 month old boy. He is the joy of our lives.
