Cali

The end of May my little brother Scott returned from his mission in Italy and in a week my other little brother Dave leaves for his mission to Mexico. To celebrate the homecoming of one brother and the farewell of another, my family got together in California. We had a great week. We celebrated my mom's 53rd birthday, played on the beach, met up with some friends from KY and the highlight of the trip was spending 2 long and glorious days at Disneyland. As always I took way too many pictures. Here's a sample and if you want to read more about the trip and see many many more pictures read the post bellow....

Disneyland

Disneyland is truly the happiest place on earth. I found myself tearing up watching my kids laugh and scream with excitement- it was pure joy!Mac and Gray were both super excited to see the characters but when we got up to them Mac hid and G ran away screaming "He's trying to eat me!"No amount of fear could keep them away from buzz! The buzz ride was their favorite too...

Between Gray and Mac they rode every single ride even tower of terror- the benefit of having large children. They really liked all the rides but were scared on every ride. They kept asking "will this ride go really fast" or "will the things get me" So when we went on the jungle cruise the boys were so nervous that something was going to get them they didn't even enjoy the easy going ride. Luckily they went on it the next day too and liked it even more!

All the other stuff

My mom turned 53 on the 5th. This is the first time in like 5 years that we were all there for her birthday. Weeks before her birthday we planned a little surprise. We came up with 53 memories and reasons why we love my mom. We wrote them on tags and connected them to a picture or object that represented the memory. On her birthday she woke up to the apartment decorated in "memories"

Sunday we went to the Hyde's. It was great seeing them and where they live. As we drove off the kids chased us down the street and we found ourselves missing them all over again:( I only wish we had more time to spend with them.

The rest of the time was spent on the beach. Annie took great naps under the umbrella...Mike the pelican

Gray would dig a hole, fill it with sea shells, and then dig them up exclaiming, "Look I found sea shells!"

Ya, we forgot sunblock the first morning- we were all burned especially the kids.

Memorial Day

I can't believe it's already June!!! we had a great Memorial weekend... it started off with a drive-in movie. The night couldn't have been better- nice cool weather- no bugs and lots of running around and wrestling. Between the Grigg's 4 boys and our 2, it got a little crazy!
the minute Kung Fu Panda 2 started the boys were in the zone....

Saturday was farmers market and cleaning day. Later we celebrated Gray's birthday- he doesn't turn 3 until the 15th but we'll be in Utah and I didn't want to ship his "big" present. We went to the store and let G pick out the dessert- chocolate chip cookies!the batman cave was a hit!
also this weekend, Annie found her toes and hasn't stopped sucking on them since!

Monday we hit the pool and ended the weekend with a BBQ!

Happy Memorial Day!
