iPhone photo dump!

I don't even know where to begin... Summer came to a close. We hit up the pool as much as we could and on a weekend drew was gone I took the kids to the zoo. It was HOT and I sweated so much that I truly was embarrassed! A gray shirt was a bad choice that day! But spider-man was there and the boys thought it was the greatest thing that had ever happened to them so it was worth it! G got another cast put on and his arm healed great. We just got his 2nd cast off and we found a penny in it! We had to peal it off with a thin layer of skin. G later admitted he meant to put the penny in his cast and that he thought it would be funny! And it was! Mac went to 'back to school night'. I cried like a baby and he was proud that he could pump higher than the older boys next to him. I heard him say " wait, I'm younger than you and look how much higher I am" already starting the smack talk:) Mac's first 2 weeks of school were a little rough. I was second guessing my choice of sending him to full day kindergarten. He was homesick and just plain tired. I took the kids to eat lunch with him to make it easier on him. This week was totally different. He's loved school and doesn't seem exhausted when he's home! I think it just took some time to get use to the schedule. Our garden has produced so much this year. I loved it. G loved picking the vegetables but not eating them and Mac and drew are sick of them! I just finished canning salsa and I don't mean to toot my own horn but it turned out amazing! Canning, it's super rewarding- spoken by a true domesticated woman!  Annie has been a little firecracker, nothing new. The other day I found her in the closet on the top shelf, crap! She's learned and perfected climbing! She's gotten to the point that she'll sit long enough to be read to! She loves books! Last week we got our first non family visitor- they're really family! But sis. Henshaw and emo stopped in for one night on their way to Washington dc. I love these women and it was great to have them in our home! 2 weeks ago I ran the mid summer night 5k. Loved having my family cheer me on, didn't love the fact that there were 5000 runners. Lots of weaving but so much fun! well, I think that's everything:).... oh and we caught a skunk instead of a pesky raccoon! It was a stinky, expensive mistake!

Another quick trip to Utah

Maggie got married and since we didn't want to miss the last Millar wedding the whole family flew to Utah for a really quick trip! Maggie was a BEAUTIFUL bride and the couple looked as happy and in love as can be. Even though we were only there for 3 days we were able to spend lots of time with family and eat really yummy food. Thanks to all the family who made this crazy trip work!

Kindergarten

I don't deal with change very well- initially. I've dreaded sending Mac off to school since the first time I held him in my arms. I love being a stay-at-home mom. I love being the first person to hear and see their firsts in their lives. I love the freedom and I'll admit that I like the control. For awhile I considered home schooling but realized I'm not cut out for it and my little Mac, well, he LOVES people. He is Mr. Social!  For the past year he's been asking to go to school.

So I knew this would be harder on me than him. All week long I found myself tearing up at the thought of him going to school. On back to school night I sat and cried while I watched him play with other kids on the play ground. When did he get so big? At one point during the week he said "Mom, why are you hugging and kissing me all the time!" I asked Gray, "G, what are we going to do without Mac around?." and he answered "Lets just be sad" and then I cried some more.
Mac's first day of school went pretty smoothly! He woke up, ate 6 pieces of bacon, toast, and eggs. The night before he slept in our bed and he talked in his sleep- which I took as he was nervous but you wouldn't know it the morning of.

We thought it'd be best if I didn't take him to school for 2 reasons:  (1) Drew will be taking Mac to school every morning so he might as well get used to it. and (2) We knew I would be a mess.

Hard to believe my little boy is old enough to leave me.
The whole day G asked "when is my brudder coming home?" and when I picked up G and Annie from the gym day care Annie kept saying "Where's Mac?" we watched the clock all day and 2:55 could not come fast enough!

Mac didn't say much about his first day except that he liked everything and he didn't get in trouble. This morning while we were getting ready I said "Mac, you know you can stay home with me today if you want"  and he said "Why would I do that? I Love school!" Perfect answer!

Mac's teacher is Ms. Rowe
