Mexico

For the McAllister Family vacation this year we went to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It was a great week filled with many adventures and many laughs.

Adventure #1... Trying to find the church Sunday morning...

...Got lost drove around for an hour and hit the beach where we tried to remember it was Sunday and not get too wet:)
Mac loves Jackie Boy

Adventure #2... Boogy boarding

Mac was a natural!

Adventure #3... The Zoo
This zoo was crazy with no rules. We were able to feed all the animals (bears included). There was touching and grabbing from the animals and Mac told me "A bear tried to slam uncle Dave but Dave punched the bear away." Not totally true, there was no punching involved. The whole time I was thinking of escape plans just in case one of the tigers got out.
A baby wolf

Adventure #4 Old town Puerto Vallarta

Adventure #5 Zip lining through the Rain Forest

soaring up to 600 feet above the ground
Me and Mom stayed back to watch the kids but only heard great things about this adventure!

Adventure #6.. Boat tour
We went through caves, snorkeled in remote places and stopped in little villages that you can only get to by boat.Gray playing with a star fish. Come to find out they are pretty resilient.
Because of all the rain, the water was not the best for snorkeling but it was great to get out of the boat and swim and I might have thrown up a couple of times. Boat + sketchy Mexican food = throw up!

Mac trying out snorkeling

Adventure #7 relaxation
The resort we stayed at had an amazing pool with 2 alligator slides.

G cheering for Mac
Our little Mermaid! Dave's a great uncle.

The week went by way too fast. Thanks for the great memories, I love my family!

I've been awake since 4 am! Thinking about these...

Yesterday we had our ultrasound and was totally shocked to find out we are having a GIRL! I was sure we were having another little boy and was happy as can be with that. We had a name picked out and even called the baby a he. But I have to admit when it finally hit me (4 am) that we were having a girl I couldn't stop thinking of all the fun things girls bring. This is not going to be good for our budget! We are beyond thrilled to have a little more pink in our lives and a baby sister to soften those boys of mine!

Random update

My camera has been acting up so I haven't been taking pictures and who wants to blog without pictures? Luckily I did manage to get a couple to highlight the last couple of weeks.

It's been hot and since I have been feeling better I have taken to cleaning the house. Closets were organized, bathrooms were scrubbed and canning was done. It feels good to have some energy again.

The boys are doing great. Mac is in private swim lessons and is a little fish. After 2 lessons he could swim. Jump off the side of the pool, swim to me, turn around and swim back, swim! He's doing great.

Doing bobs
I woke G up from his nap and went straight to swim, he wasn't in the best mood.

Gray is talking non stop and his feisty personality is coming out more- I'll take the blame for that. Last night he was crying. I went up to see what was wrong cause this kid never wakes up in the middle of the night. He was crying "Scary, monster in bed, play Daddy." I caved.

A couple weeks ago we went blackberry picking for play group. This has been a fun tradition...

Saturday

Last weekend was the first weekend in a long time that we had absolutely nothing to do! No church responsibilities, no meetings, no parties, nothing and it felt great. We headed downtown to the farmers market to get fresh peaches and tomatoes for me, cheese for Drew and kettle corn for the boys.
This fall The World Equestrian Games are coming to Lexington. It's the first World Equestrian Games to be held outside of Europe and it's coming here! Downtown is getting transformed and Horse Mania - the public art project, which incorporates 89 full-size horses and 50 foals decorated by local artists and Lexington school children- is in full force. In October the horses will be auctioned off to raise money.

We walked around town trying to see all the horses... This one was my favorite, a Bourbon Barrel.
Loved this one as well. Pictures of Alice in Wonderland all done in Sharpies.
some of the others...
It's been fun driving through Lexington, pointing out all the unique horses. The boys love it!

Later that night we went to the Quarter Horse Races with some friends.

People are always asking me if I'd be sad if the baby is a boy and this picture answers it for me. Absolutly not! I love my boys and to add another one would be fantastic. For the record, I'm 99% sure it's another boy, Mac thinks and hopes it's a girl and Drew thinks it looks like a boy:)
