Gray, GG, Geeg...

I love this boy so much. I feel like I haven't done many posts on Gray. I'm lucky if I get a picture of him. So here he is doing his much needed tummy time. With Mac we worked on him rolling over constantly. Now Gray is almost 5 months old and I can count on both hands how many times we've put him on his stomach. Needless to say he has not rolled over yet. He's close and he did do it once in August but it was a total fluke, so we don't count it.

Happy
Getting uncomfortable
oops
Whenever Gray's doing tummy time Mac lays next to him, gives him a kiss and just talks to him.
Mac's cheering Gray on.
Mac at 5 months you can tell we were better at doing tummy time with Mac. Do you think Gray and Mac look a like?

Here's to a new day! Barack Obama will be the next President of the United Sates of America. Whether you voted for Obama or not you have to admit that it was an impressive night. People were more involved than ever before. Our generation is finally stepping up. Even though I seriously questioned why I needed to vote as I was waiting in line for an hour and half. Both Drew and I voted for different candidates, so my thought was, we both won't vote cause we would cancel each other out anyway. But instead we both voted for the sake of voting. Second, we have an African American president. As a country we have come so far. Lastly, I loved McCain's concession speech when he said" Whether they supported me or Senator Obama. I wish God Speed to the man who was my former opponent and will be my President, and I call on all Americans as I have often in my campaign to not despair in our present difficulties but to believe always in the promise and greatness of America."

This will be my one and only blog entry about politics. I'm so happy this race is finally over and that we can all move on. A huge congrats to California! Way to come together and get proposition 8 passed.

Happy Halloween!

Halloween this year was a blast. We started out eating a pot luck dinner with some friends. Then we headed out for the goods. Last year Mac was crawling so we didn't take him Trick or Treating. This year we dressed Mac up, taught him how to say "Trick or treat" and "thank you," and let him go. He loved it and I loved watching him.

Mac telling Carson he got a suck and Carson telling him it's called a sucker.

Mason was the cutest superman

Mac stood and stared at this little guy waiting for him to say something.
I asked Mac to stop and smile and he said "no, stop".
Mac blowing kisses to the fuff.
Mac and Carson got distracted by everything. It took us over an hour to do 20 houses.
Snow white (Christa) and the wicked queen (random lady)
Drew and Gray stayed at the Carlson's and passed out candy.

PuMpKiN cArViNg...

Last week we went over to the Jackson's to carve pumpkins and have a yummy dinner. Tiffany and her sister Danielle came with their kids: Savannah, Ellie and Stephen. Tiff's husband was on call so he was only able to be there for a minute. The night went like this... Eat dinner. Watch the guys carve pumpkins. Cheryl making caramel apples. Watching the kids make a huge mess with the caramel apples but thoroughly enjoying themselves. All the little kids disappearing into the other room to listen to a book read by Danielle. Savannah and Mac dumping water into each other cups and giggling. Eating delicious pumpkin souffle. At 10:30 we had to sadly say goodbye. Thanks Cheryl and Rich for the fun night!!

Gray's Room

So we still need a crib. We are not quite ready to put Mac in a big boy bed so Gray is still in the pack and play which is set up in our walk in closet. That sounds so bad but it's a big closet. The crib will be where Gray is laying.

The pictures make the colors look a little muted but I love this room because a lot of hard work went into it. The border took forever but well worth it. 2nd I refinished this dresser (no before pic). I still need pictures in the frames. I made the growth chart in the corner. (first picture)
Last but not least, I refinished the glider and foot stool. Kristen and Debbie will recognize this rocker. Here's the before...After...

Today I was at story time with some friends venting about this glider and not being able to figure out how to reupholster it and make it look good. For most people this would be an easy task and I too thought it would be but I'm not a seamstress at all and it took some effort to make it look like it wasn't home made.Anyway I came home with some of their ideas and I'm happy to say that all my hard work paid off. I love it! ps the chair is tan not pink. My mom called and asked me why I did a pink chair, so I guess on some computers it looks pink but it's not. It's just plain tan.

Funny that we put all this work into it and Gray isn't even ready to move in.

Trunk or Treat

This weekend was our ward's Trunk or Treat.
We decided that we would all dress up like animals. Mac was a lion, Gray a beaver, I was a Cat and Drew was a creepy guy. The best part of the night is that he gave the opening prayer at the party and no one could keep a straight face. Then after, everyone kept asking me what Drew was. gotta love him.

Debbie was the Cat in the Hat and the twins were thing one and two. Too cute!
Mac got the hang of Trick or Treating. Towards the end he would just look into the bags and say "Suck?(sucker)" He only wanted suckers. At all times he had at least two suckers in his hands.

ps. I'm still locking up, I just wanted to get some posts in. So if you haven't left your email, do it now!

Fall means....

...Keeneland Time.

Keeneland only holds races in October and April. I only go to the races if we invite another couple to go with us. It works best for us. Drew can get totally into the races and not talk to anyone and I can talk to the people we go with, which was the Reynolds this time.

Jen and Jack
The boys scouting out the next race

...we go to the Farmer's market every Saturday. We shop for our vegetables for the week and get the yummiest fresh baked croissant cinnamon roll and lemon lavender muffin for breakfast!

Last but not least, fall means baking sugar cookies. I only make sugar cookies twice a year because they're so much work and I end up eating way too much. This time I gave most of them away because 1. I couldn't stop eating them 2. I couldn't stop Mac from eating them. He's our little cookie monster. When he would wake up in the morning or from a nap he would say "cookie?" Not good.

I gave him a cookie and insted of taking it from me, he tried to eat it out of my hand.
