Phone update

Here's a random update from all the pictures on my phone...

November was a big month for us- we successfully started AND followed through with a job chart! Every day that the boys cleaned the playroom and their bedroom, they got a sticker. On Saturdays we added an extra job- bathroom, laundry or yard work. At the end of the month they got paid .25 cents for every sticker they had!They only missed 3 days all month.

It's been a busy month for Drew. Lot's of faceTime dates...

Annie is our little mom around here and changing dolly diapers is her specialty.

We started a new tradition this year. The kids open a Christmas book every night.

It's really warm here and it does not feel like Christmas time at all! while we are enjoying not having to wear coats, we want SNOW and it doesn't look like we are going to get any! So one afternoon I sat down and made like a billion snowflakes! Whenever Gray opens the curtains he screams "it's snowing!!!" And then laughs and laughs! The paper snowflakes will do for now but by Christmas we better have the real stuff!

Robbed

Last week was stake conference. It was a great weekend- the adult session Saturday night was just what we needed. Elder Bowen from the First Quorum of the Seventy spoke. He talked about personal revelation and how important it is in our life. I left feeling grateful for prayer and a Heavenly Father that knows me and cares about me. I could go on and on about that meeting but I wrote it in my personal journal already... So Sunday morning 20 minutes into Stake conference a friend of ours came and got us out of the meeting "hey Ashlee, your car has been broken in to." It was the worst feeling. I knew right then and there my purse was stolen. Right before the meeting I saw my purse sitting on the front seat and the thought came into my mind "Take your purse" and I obviously didn't listen. Anyway, I came up to the car and this is what I saw. A guy from another ward came up to me. He explained that he saw a guy that was wearing jeans looking in the cars- people that go to our church generally don't wear jeans.  The guy saw that this man saw him so he got in his car and drove off. Luckily, the guy from church wrote down his information and walked around where he was and saw that our car was broken into. He called the police and they were on their way. I will forever love this man. The police came, checked out our car and took our information. We immediately cancelled all my credit cards and went back in to church. We got a call 30 minutes later saying they caught the guy. Drew went and met the police, got my purse back and all our gift cards but the guy tossed my credit cards and license. All in all it turned out to be ok. The guy spent 60 dollars that should be reimbursed and we had to get new cards and license and a new window. It could have been so much worse, Can you imagine if our now friend was not there to witness any of this and 2 hours later we come out of church to find this? Like I said we were lucky!

The Blessing of the Hounds

Saturday morning we went to the Blessing of the Hounds. This was our second time going. The first time we went, we were late and missed the priest giving the blessing but were able to stay and watch the hunt. This time we made it in time for the blessing but because of the cold we weren't able to stay for the hunt. Shaker village is picturesque and then you throw in 50 beautifully manicured horses and riders dressed to perfection, it makes for a beautiful morning.

Thanksgiving

Katie, beej, Emma, Ellie and baby brig came up from St. Louis, Wednesday, to spend Thanksgiving with us.

The kids have been looking forward to their visit all month.

Thanksgiving seemed so easy this year.We had the Powells over and they brought the turkey and desserts. Katie and I split the rest of the meal and the guys did the clean up. We were able to go on a long walk with the kids before lunch. When does that ever happen? The lunch itself was delicious and full of thanks. 

 

Annie was completely in love with Brigham and idolized Ellie- who is 8 months older than Annie but 5lbs liter:) Emma and Ellie got princess nightgowns and Annie cried for a "dress" of her own. Luckily Katie bought an extra one that was Annie's size. She LoVeS it and now has been introduced to princesses.

Friday we went to a gymnastic center so the kids could burn off some energy.

While the kids were napping beej and drew attempted to put the lights up on the house.

Gray cried and cried when we said good bye. For some reason he thought they were staying until Christmas. We were all sad to see them go. Thanks for coming wirigs!
