Tagged...How it all began!

1. Where did you meet your husband?

While at Utah State I made a good friend Brian Williams. Throughout the year he would mention things about his good friend Drew. We even went to California with a bunch of friends for Spring Break with the intention of visiting Drew on his mission. Don't worry we never made it to Long Beach. Anyway, October of my Sophomore year (2003) Brian threw a party at his house. While there, Brian introduced me to some of his friends from home, one of them being Drew. It was dark and the guys were throwing a football so I really didn't get to see them. Later on we put it all together that I was the girl at the party and Drew was the guy throwing the football.

Later in the spring after I had moved home for the summer Brian asked me if I wanted to go on a road trip to California with his friend who was going to LA to go through the temple with a member he baptised. After promising my mom that this was indeed the last road trip I would ever take and I assured her that nothing would happen. She let me go. I ended up inviting my friend Lisa to come along as well.

We drove down to Provo to Brain's friends house. When we got there we started repacking the car to make more room when this tall, good looking guy came running out of his apartment. Lo and behold it was Drew. I count this as our first meeting.

So we made our way down to Long beach. The whole car ride was not so fun. I was sick and Drew was really talkative and sure of himself which was a little overwhelming at first. It's funny that bothered me at the time because it's one of my favorite things about him now.

We made it to Long Beach. The first night we ended up sleeping in a church parking lot. In the middle of the night the sprinklers came on. We were soaked. Me and Lisa ended up sleeping in the car while the boys slept out on the pavement. A night I wont forget.

The next couple of days we stayed in the Brulee's (the member Drew was going through the temple with) Camper trailer that was camped outside on their front lawn. The next couple of days Drew went to the temple, visited some other members and watched the Kentucky Derby. So a lot of the time during the day wasn't spent with him. At night we all had fun hanging out at the beach and playing games.

To make a long story short. After we got home I thought I might run into Drew a couple of times while I was home for the summer but didn't think anything else would come of him. Boy was I wrong. A couple days after returning home Drew called. We hung out a few times with his friends. The next week we went on our first date. We went up the Provo Canyon with another couple. While up there he kissed me (fast I know). From then on we spent everyday together. With the exceptions of my trips to Hawaii, China and Lake Powell.

2. What happened next?
In August I surprised Drew last minute by not going back to Utah State and transferred to UVSC. When I told him I was staying I said, "This doesn't mean I want to marry you it just means I want to give us a chance." The first of October we broke up. I thought I wasn't ready to get married and didn't want to drag Drew along. We were both devastated, I spent the next day at work crying. I'm sure the customers thought I was crazy. I ended up leaving work early and driving up to Logan to spend sometime with friends. Three days later I came home and after talking with Drew decided we would date other people. That never happened and two weeks later got engaged. 3 months after that we were married in the Salt Lake temple on February 12, 2005.

That road trip was the best thing that ever happened to me. Life couldn't be better.

What we've been up to

Not a lot has been going on here. We have been stuck inside because Mac had the flu and Drew got it too. (ha ha that rhymes). Luckily I didn't get it so I was able to tend to my sick boys.
But before they got sick we went on a family bike ride. Mac had a hard time at first but ended up falling asleep. It was nice to get outside and enjoy the weather.

Mac trying to get out of the trailer

Whenever I acknowledge Mac doing something he's not suppose to be doing i.e dumping Cheerios all over the floor; he starts giggling and doing it faster. It's hard not to laugh.

This picture represents what I did last week. I feel like all I did was clean up after Mac. I did so much laundry the poor kid had explosion after explosion (such a good word to describe what happened). Mac loves to read. Last week he sat down opened the book and started jabbering to himself. Whenever I asked him questions he would raise his hand and jabber more. He was so serious and So cute.

I turned 24 Friday! When people ask me how old I am I want to say 21. In my mind I feel like I stopped aging when I got married. If only my body agreed with me.

The day was great. Since the boys were still recovering from their sickness. I went to work in the morning and came home to a spotless house and a yummy lunch! Later we went out to dinner and watched a movie. Honestly all I wanted for my birthday was a clean house and not to have to cook. It was perfect! Thanks Drew!

Fall premiers

The fall is so great, the weather is perfect and TV gets good again. Ever since I had Mac I have watched more TV than I would like to admit. So to better myself I have limited myself to these four shows a week. I'll see how I stick to my plan.

I love to laugh and 30 Rock could possibly be the funniest show I have ever seen! I can't wait for it to start up again.

Of course The office is great. Can't wait to see what happens with Pam and Jim.

The first couple of seasons of Greys were good but I'm not too sure if I'm going to like it this season. I might start watching Private practice instead. Greys got a little too dramatic for me last season. We'll see how it goes. But no matter what happens I will keep up on the music.

I'm not a huge fan of reality TV but I love this show. If you come over to our home on Tuesday night you will find me working out while watching the biggest loser. It's such a motivating show. I know I sound like a nerd.

Family Swim Day

This summer Mac and I spent numerous hours at the Lexington pools. They have been a life saver. I don't know what we would have done all those hot, humid days.

To my chagrin the pools closed yesterday. So we went one
last time Saturday. I love this pool. It has a pirate theme and Mac loves it too. We put Mac down the slide a couple of times, I don't know if he liked or not but he sure looked cute.

This year we took the Garners along with us. They have become such good friends of ours. We hope they also decide to stay here in Lexington after Shawn graduates (keep your fingers crossed)!

It was a bumpy ride but Mac managed to fall asleep.
He was so tired!

Welcoming Fall with open Arms

Friday morning sure felt like fall. Me and Mac woke up early, went out on our deck so we wouldn't wake Drew. I read while Mac crawled around and played. It was such a nice relaxing day and perfect weather! A great way to start off Labor day weekend.
