CAMPING

This weekend we finally got to take our little family camping. I only have fond memories of camping, whether it was with my family visiting all the state parks or with Drew in a random church parking lot in Long Beach, California (that's camping, right?). I love camping. Drew on the other hand doesn't do too well with the camping thing. It usually takes him days to recover from the bad nights sleep, dang arthritis. But him being an amazing husband surprised me with some camping gear when I was having one of those emotional not so good days. The planning took off from there and we ended up here...

Cave Run Lake with the Noehren family.

We got there in time for the men to have little fun. They were so close to finishing the bridge across the lake:)
We got back to the camp site, ate dinner and welcomed the rain.
The rain was minimal and ended up keeping the heat and bugs away.

We roasted marshmallows and starburst (G's favorite)
Drew serenaded us

Boys played and played and finally fell asleep sometime around midnight.

Our boys slept in until 8:30am. Which was amazing and were still happy campers in the morning.
One more wrestling match before taking down the tent.
Our little camp site

Before we left we went down to the lake one more time. Gray stripped down and had a little too much fun.

The camping trip was a success. We had a blast! It was worth all the packing, unpacking and laundry! Thanks Noehren family for a great weekend and for most of the pictures!

27!

Yesterday I turned the big 27. I love when my wish comes true for a birthday week. I started getting packages the end of last week and they haven't stopped. The longer the celebration the better:)

Yesterday, Mac left for preschool and G and I ran errands. Met Nancy for lunch and came home to treats on my doorstep and visitors throughout the day. I truly am surrounded by amazing, loving, supportive friends. Drew took me out to dinner, did a little shopping and came home to presents and a cute little cake from another friend Angela- see, great friends!

Drew got me some thoughtful gifts that the boys enjoyed opening.
Throughout the day I got messages and calls from friends and family. You all sure know how to make a girl feel special! Thanks!!!

Mac's first day of Preschool!

Today we woke up early (for us) got ready, packed a lunch and set this little guy off to school! This year Mac's preschool is on the other side of town and starts at 9:00 am and doesn't get over until 1:30 pm. I'm expecting one tired little boy today!
Since Mac is in a carpool and it wasn't my day to take, we went yesterday to meet his teachers and see the school. Here's Mac with his core teacher Miss Stacey and making crafts.

I can never get enough of this kid. Mac, we are sure going to miss you today! Can't wait to hear all about your first day of preschool!

Labor Day Weekend

Katie, Beej, Emma and Ellie came to visit for the weekend. We are excited to have them close to us for the next 3 years.

Here's a little recap of the weekend backwards.... Monday we went to Reed Vally Apple Orchard to take advantage of their buy 1 bag of apples, get 1 free deal. The orchard was crowded with pregnant ladies wearing BYU t-shirts! Who else buys bushels of apples to can?

We picked and ate apples to our hearts desire!

Miss independent, trying to carry a heavy bag of apples all by herself!
The other part of the weekend consisted of college football, farmers market, more football and a little birthday party for miss Emma.

It was fun to relax and catch up with family! Wirig family come back soon!
Speaking of family. Back in August Ry, Roo, Lucy and Jack stayed with us for a couple of days. This is the only picture I got of their stay. Have you seen a cuter set of cheeks?

My Boys

What's not to love about these two? Besides the fact they wont let me get a good picture of the two of them, they are perfectly perfect. Can you tell I'm having a good "mom day." The other weekend Drew and I had nothing going on. We woke the boys up, went to the park and played a little baseball.

Mac proved to be a good hitter.
While Gray proved to be a good cheerleader and fetcher. We all have our strengths:)

The baseball game was fun though it only lasted until the boys remembered BLT's were for lunch. Have I mentioned how much my boys love bacon? Well, like father like sons. The love of bacon runs strong in the Millar genes. It's a greasy staple in our home.
